As we all know Tik-Tok and YouTube are the foremost used applications thus far and are dumped an incredible load on the servers since the pandemic COVID-19 broke out.
In this context, to maintain the internet infrastructure up and steady, streaming services like YouTube and others had decided to lower their quality settings in India to ensure that the Internet infrastructure does not collapse. Which already started rolling out in some parts of India but cities like Mumbai and Delhi are still getting high-quality streaming on Youtube though these may very well get the same restrictions within the coming hours and days
so, even the 4k videos on youtube, Indians will see only 480p on mobile devices. and youtube on desktop remained unaffected.
but don't worry this won't last forever. we will get HD videos for mobile. once the pandemic is diminished, lockdowns are gone, people let loose from quarantines, or simply.. when everything is back to normal, they're going to roll back the HD services needless to say.
